Stop overrating this man, stop re writing history on him and put him in the same level as MJ cause the comparison is a joke. I don’t like him at all and I hope he fades. Overrrated artist, only popular because he looked like MJ in the 80s and he was known as his rival, and that crappy song Purple Rain. His legacy is too small, he only has one real hit, if you go outside America you’ll know either he’s a one hit wonder or unknown, the public only enjoys one album of him Purple Rain, besides his music aged terribly, he’s limjted, he doesn’t last very long he fades after a while. His music sounds too white, too rock, he’s more white rock please stop this re writing history on him.
The other hand he’s so overrated because he looked like MJ, many black fans of MJ want to re write history saying Prince is black and the key to black music when he’s too focus on white people, and that 88% of the fan base are whites and women. Used Michael Jackson’s hair for more popularity, I feel he did that to steal MJ fans and impersonators from him. It’s clear without Prince copying Michael Jackson it’s clear Prince wouldn’t have the success he had in 1984 with Purple Rain. Him looking like Michael Jackson during Purple Rain with that hair is why people overrate him along with the fake rivalry and why Michael Jackson fans stan both or impersonators do both. What pains me the most is Michael Jackson fans leaving their own idol for him. Party Man, Do Me Baby etc all written by Andre Cymone, Wendy, Lisa, Morris Day Etc. Wendy came up with it, she wanted Purple Rain to be a county song, Prince took the credit from her yet funny Wendy didn’t do nothing. Prince also took the credit from other artists and friends work. Andre Cymone a friend of him said he stole some songs from him that’s why they fell out. And then he started copying Little Richard. And then he started copying Michael Jackson. And then he started copying James Brown and Jimi Hendrix. Rick James took him under his wings and then Prince started copying Rick James.
Because he was new at the scenes where there was already heavy music heights like Michael Jackson/The Jacksons, Rick James, Kool And The Gang and that, they had to promote him to make him distinguished artists before him. He didn’t play 27 instruments that was a PR move to promote him. This man is overrated by not only the media, critics but MJ fans too.
The most overrated artist of all time hands down don’t me.
